Please note that ALIVE!’s Family Assistance Program will be closed from December 21st through January 1st and will not be accepting referrals during this time.
Emergency Financial Assistance
ALIVE! provides monetary assistance to residents of the City of Alexandria for rent, utilities, medical expenses, and other emergency needs. Family Assistance volunteers work with caseworkers and not directly with any individual clients. To receive assistance, clients must be referred by the City of Alexandria Department of Community & Human Services (DCHS) at 703-746-5700, an ALIVE! member congregation, or another social service agency. Referring organizations should complete the Family Assistance Referral Form.
Home Delivery of Food
Family Assistance home delivers food for the elderly, disabled, and single parents. To receive assistance, clients must be referred by the City of Alexandria Department of Community & Human Services (DCHS) at 703-746-5700, an ALIVE! member congregation, or another social service agency. Referring organizations should complete the Family Assistance Referral Form.
